Kapok is a moisture-resistant, quick-drying, resilient, and buoyant fiber and weighs only one-eighth as much as cotton.

Kapok has been used in life jackets and life boats, supporting as much as 30 times its own volume in water.

When used in flies, it floats amazingly. 

Kapok dubbing is super soft and ultra fine, easily dubs and can be used in advanced tying techniques on even the smallest of fly patterns.

Kapok dubbing can be blended with other dubbings, flash, or feathers (CDC).
